Christmas tree-cycling is a record-breaking success!

We are thrilled to announce the record-breaking success of the 2025 St Helena Hospice Christmas Tree-cycle campaign, which raised an astounding £40,000 for the hospice.

This year’s campaign saw nearly 2,500 Christmas trees collected and recycled across north Essex, with the proceeds directly supporting St Helena Hospice in providing vital care and support to individuals facing incurable illnesses and bereavement.

As proud sponsors for the eighth consecutive year, we contributed both our time and resources to the initiative, including the use of our vans and the help of our dedicated team.

Over the course of four chilly January days, we joined forces with 85 remarkable members of the public who also volunteered their time to collect pre-booked trees from homes and businesses.

The combined effort of those involved was not only heartwarming but record-setting, achieving the highest total in the campaign’s history – a perfect start to St Helena Hospice’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

As for the trees, they were put to excellent use. They were either:

  • Used to provide bedding for local animal rescue centres
  • Processed and recycled by Colchester and Tendring councils
  • Composted for use in Essex agriculture

We’re already looking forward to supporting the campaign in January 2026.
