We demonstrated our expertise in emergency response by swiftly aiding in the extraction of a vehicle following a road traffic collision on the A19(M) near Cambridge.
Undertaken on behalf of the Highways Agency through a request from Philip Liverton Ltd, the callout showcased our ability to react quickly and efficiently in critical situations.
When we received the call, our out-of-hours, emergency response team was engaged in a routine project but recognising the urgency of the situation, we rearranged their schedule to meet the two-hour call-out period.
Rapid response was vital to minimise road closure and disruption, so the team was en-route within ten minutes, exemplifying our commitment to emergency callouts.
The callout
Upon arrival the scene presented a typical post-accident scenario; a vehicle had veered off the road into adjacent trees. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed.
The team’s task was to disentangle the significantly damaged vehicle from the roadside vegetation to facilitate its recovery.
Working efficiently under a partial road closure provided by the traffic police, the team quickly cleared a path through the trees and brush.
Using their woodchipper, they efficiently removed the debris, ensuring easy removal from the site. This prompt action allowed the recovery team to swiftly remove the vehicle and reduce traffic disruption.
The outcome
The successful completion of this task underscores our ability to provide vital emergency services.
Our quick response and efficient execution not only aided in the vehicle’s safe recovery but also ensured minimal traffic disturbance.
Furthermore, this project highlights the crucial role we can play in supporting road safety and traffic management and our ability to work in partnership with emergency services to aid them in emergency situations.
