Boxford Suffolk Farms, an award-winning British fruit producer, partnered with Stoke by Nayland Golf & Spa to address a unique challenge in their picturesque orchard in rural Suffolk.
They called upon our expertise for a delicate yet crucial task: the reduction of a 500-metre stretch of Poplar trees that were impacting their apple orchard’s productivity.
Poplar trees, while excellent for windbreaks and providing privacy due to their height and robust root systems, were causing an unintended consequence for Boxford. Their towering presence was blocking essential sunlight from reaching the apple trees, thus hindering the fruit’s growth and quality.
