Marlborough Highways presented us with a project that required both precision and strategic timing. The task involved the removal of a large tree obstructing a new construction site located on a busy bus lane.
Recognising the need to minimise disruption in a busy town centre, the operation was scheduled for a Sunday. This ensured the bus route remained unaffected during its peak usage on weekdays and Saturdays, while also taking advantage of the reduced noise sensitivity in an area predominantly surrounded by commercial offices and retail establishments which would be closed for the day.
The project
The work commenced with the implementation of essential road management measures to secure the area for both motorists and pedestrians, highlighting our commitment to safety and minimal disturbance.
Our team erected barriers not only to mitigate noise but also to serve as a protective measure for passers-by.
Utilising ropes and harnesses, we first methodically removed the branches before sectioning and dismantling the main trunk down to ground level, ensuring the site was cleared and ready for further development.
All removed tree parts were responsibly transported for recycling, reflecting our dedication to environmental stewardship.
